Film (SHINKOLITE)
SHINKOLITER FILM is the trade name of the Mitsubishi Rayon's acrylic film. The film acts a long-lasting protective barrier against UV rays, staining, and discoloration.
1. High level of weatheability
SHINKOLITE FILM has outstanding weatherability. The film neither cracks nor yellows, even when exposed to direct sunlight for long period outdoors. It keeps its transparency and preserves aesthetic beauty.
2. Superior UV ray absorption
SHINKOLITE FILM absorbs the sun's ultra violet rays. When laminated to plastics and other substrates, the film increases their weatherability. It prevents both a change in the underlying materials' appearance and a decline in mechanical strength. The film can prevent the yellowing and lowering of impact resistance of PC or PVC sheets and has numerous practical applications, especially for exterior finishing construction materials. Furthermore, when SHINKOLITE FILM is laminated onto the inside of display window, it easily protects the display from getting damaged by UV rays.
3. Stain resistance
SHINKOLITE FILM provides a barrier to dirt and stains, preserving the beauty of the base material, especially PVC film. Mud, pen marks, food stains --- these can be simply washed away with a cloth and a little soapy water. Wiping the surface will not spread the stain. If the film is laminated to interior finishing materials, it will prevent staining and degradation of the base material, keeping it looking brand-new for a long time.
4. Easy lamination
SHINKOLITE FILM can easily be heat laminated to thermoplastics including PVC, PC and ABS. If the plastics are heated, the film can be applied directly during the production process, and will bond instantly. The laminated plastic can be easily formed in several ways afterwards: It can be heat-vacuum formed, punched, and bent. Laminated vinyl chloride film can be heated and roll-embossed with various patterns.
5. Transparency over an extended period of time
Plastic products laminated with SHINKOLITE FILM will not become white and chalky like vinyl chloride film, nor will they yellow like polycarbonate. The film will preserve their transparency and luster.
6. Ease of processing
SHINKOLITE FILM is easily processed and can be used in a variety of applications. The film can be printed. It can also be used as a cover to protect inks on the surface of the printed plastic substrates from UV rays. The film can be applied to aluminum and other metalizing, creating a mirror surface. An adhesive coating can be applied. Dry-laminating, and other processes are possible.
7. Improved surface appearance
If transparent SHINKOLITE FILM is laminated to a colored substrate or to metallic tone ABS sheet, it will make the colors appear deeper, enhance the appearance, and impart a metallic finish.
8. Wide range of size for all applications
SHINKOLITE FILM is available in a wide range of sizes: from 15 micron to 300 micron (38mil to 762mil) thick and up to 2,100mm wide depending on the thickness.
